Pictures from Palos Verdes, Redondo Beach, or other local spots!

Pics taken from BugHunter Bill's boat in Oct 19, 2003.

Beth is on the boat, Don is on the ladder, Phil (Max Bottomtime) is in the water

You can't complain about the conditions!
It's as smooth as a lake!

Ross and Beth are on the boat.  Don and Phil are in the water.

Trip to the wreck of the Olympic II and Buchannon Reef with Max Bottomtime (Phil Garner) on 7/05/03.

Phil and I removing the net
from the bow of the Olympic

Nets like this are indiscriminate killers.
Anything that wanders into them will die - including careless divers

Hopefully we'll save a few really
cool fish like this ling cod.

Trip to the wreck of the Olympic II and Buchannon Reef with Max Bottomtime (Phil Garner) on 2/24/03.

It was a great trip that once again proves you don't have to go all the way to the outer islands to see an incredibly variety of of marine life.

Phil's trick to make lifting the
anchor go a little easier

3 nudis in an area the size of my hand

Buchannon Reef
How's this for lush invertibrate life?

We made friends with this octopus by feeding him a few urchins

The octopus is getting mad at the senoritas and sheephead stealing his urchins!

You gotta love Sheephead.  They are totally wild yet they'll eat of your hand.

Here's a sponge and more corynactys on the Olympic II wreck

Phil is headed over to check out the life on the structure

HID lights are nice.  Not only do they add a lot of color back to the dive, they are a great signaling device!

Another great trip with Phil on 4/26/03 to Point Vicente revealed a few more nudibranches.
Surge and current were ripping which made photography extra challenging!

Cuthona divae
No Common Name, PCN p91
Point Vicente, CA

These two Cutona divae's were spotted after I noticed all the egg clusters!

Eggs mean nudis are usually close by!

This a beautiful nudi egg cluster.  Several large Diaulula nobilis were noted in the area.
